Light In Concert

Object–Music Performance

With the object–music performance Light in Concert, we immerse ourselves in a world where light becomes audible and turn our attention to a phenomenon we do not usually perceive: the sound of light. Together with the Bochum-based light art duo scheinzeitmenschen, we listen to a wide range of light objects using self-developed devices that translate the frequencies of light into sound, allowing us to experience them in an entirely new way.

In an associative sequence of scenes, images and soundscapes unfold before our eyes and ears, as the light objects begin to tell their stories—both visually and acoustically. From meditative to industrial, from wavering to scratching and crackling, unexpected sounds emerge from everyday objects such as string lights, headlamps, or neon tubes. Through their characteristic sounds and rhythms, the light objects transform into radiant protagonists who at times speak for themselves, at times interact with one another, and at times perform in polyphonic constellations.
